# JSON RPC

ValueChain EVM exposes Ethereum-compatible JSON-RPC. Method pages, endpoints, and ValueChain-specific behavior are in [ValueChain JSON-RPC](/for-developers/api-reference/json-rpc.md).

`latest` is the current head. `safe` and `finalized` return the same block and typically lag `latest` by one slot (2 seconds). See [Differences from Ethereum](/for-developers/developers/valuechain-evm/differences-from-ethereum.md#consensus-finality).
